দ্বাবিংশ অধ্যায় । ۹ برای গির্জা-নিৰ্ম্মাণের জন্য, মহারাজ নবকৃষ্ণ বাহাদুর, তাহার নি জখরিদা ছয় বিঘার উপর জমী, সাহেবদের দান করেন । শুনিয়াছি, এই দানপত্র ও তৎসঙ্গে হেষ্টিংসের ধন্যবাদ-পত্র, এখনও সেন্টজন-গির্জার মধ্যে সযত্নে সংরক্ষিত। এই গির্জা নিৰ্ম্মাণের জন্স, একটী কমিটী সংগঠিত হয়। এই কমিটীর মধ্যে স্বয়ং গবর্ণর-জেনারেল ওয়ারেণ হেষ্টিংস হইতে, সেকালের সমস্ত পদস্থ ইংরাজ, কার্য্যকারকরূপে নিয়োজিত হইয়ছিলেন । এই কমিটীর সম্পাদক সাহেব—এই দীনের জন্ত মহারাজ নবকৃষ্ণকে ধন্যবাদ দিয়া যে পত্র লেখেন, তাহার অবিকল প্রতিলিপি এই— Letter of Thanks From The Gentlemen of The Church Committee-To Maharaja Nobkissen Bahadur of Calcutta. Sir. The Committee of Gentlemen appointed by the subscribers for erecting a church, to carry into effect the purpose of their subscription,have received srom the Honorable Governor General and Council, a copy of your Curkhast in which you give and make over to the Hon’ble Warren Hastings Esquire, Governor General, in order that a Church may be erected thereon, Six Bighas and ten Biswas of land purchased by you for your own use in Calcutta. his gist is a most liberal instance of your generosity and has afforded to the Engiish Settlement general, a great and most seasonable aid, towards giving effect to their wishes for building a place of public worship and I am, desired, Sir, to render you the thanks of the Committee for it. I am also to acquaint you that the Hon'ble Governor General aud Council, entertain the same sense of your liberality and have particularly marked it in a letter which they have lately written to the Hon'ble the Court of Directors.
