While darkness casts a gloom over everything, makes us blind, so if we are to do anything we must have some light. In the economy of nature day follows night and night follows day. This change exerts a healthy influence upon us, stimulates our good nature and helps us to realize the providence of God and to find out the path of our duty. Since our very birth we have to undergo many changes, changes wrought through the influence of manners, customs, social position, etc., etc. Moreover we learn many things from our neighbours and outsiders which are not always very good for us. Hence we should be very careful when we pick up anything from outside. I豐 brightens up everything around us, it makes us see and enables us to In India we had a peculiar type of civilization, an unique method of solving the problems of life which brought happiness well within our reach. Under the old system the struggle for existence was never very keen. Almost all the necessaries of life could be had for a mere song. Grain, vegetables, milk, etc., etc., were very cheap. The people did not know any want. Now adulteration has become the order of the day. Few things can be had pure and if pure things are to be had anyhow they are worth a Jew's eye, consequently our health is being undermined and we are falling an easy prey to sickness and premature death. We are now groping in the dark. We want light. We had light but we have most foolishly blown it out and now in the dark we are getting the wrong sow by the ear. We are driving headlong towards the brink of a precipice. In spite of our muchvaunted intelligence and knowledge we have not been able to keep the wolf from the door. We have not been able to secure a place of abode, cheap food and clothing and medical aid for the poor. So long as we are unable to bring the necessaries of life within the easy reach of all, so long will our societ remain steeped in deep misery, The problem which cries loudest for solution ii the problem of high prices. We are unable to make out how to get rid of te difficulty. We want light-more light. SSAASSSSSSSASSSSSSSSSSSSA ATAAqSSiTSSqieSSSSSSSSY
