পরিশিষ্ট । રે જે বিদেশীয় সংবাদ পত্রে শিবনাথের সম্বন্ধে এইরূপ লিখিত হইয়াছিল ৷ যথা :- Not only Bengal, but the whole of India, is distinctly the poorer by the recent death, at the ripe age of seventy-two, of Tandit Siva Nath Sastri, Calcutta. As a great social reformer, a missionary of the Sadharan Brahmo Somai (of which he was also one of the founders), an educationist, an effective public; speaker, and a writer and Scholar of no mean repute, the Pundit had a large shale in moulding the chill acter if his people and in shaping their destinies. He tot ik a keen and active interest in the battle for political reform and progress. Yet great as were the services endered hy this distinguished Bengalee, greater was the man himself. Siva Nath Sasti was in early youth drawn to the Brahuno Somaj, int) which he was initiated by Keshub Chuu der Sien ; and he abandoned a can eer in the educational service in which he gave every promise of rising tu very highest rung of the ladder to serve his God and his eountry in those fields of work for which Na“ un e had pre-eminently nmarked hinu out, but which offered few opportunities of earning renown and alone wh a fever of earning money and to the end of his days he remained trne to the inspiration of his youth and the guidance of his conscience. Such a man is at all times and in all countries a rare asset of national life. Ro that India mourns his death as that of a worthy Ron whose whole life was one long record of highly valuable and utterly disinterested public service Christian Life.
