What think we have to distinguish is the simple terminology adapted to եմ 顿 弗 "readers" "primers” "elementary treatises” and similar publications, and even larger text books and monographs. In this respect too we might. take German usage as our guide. In highly technical subjects we use freely words borrowed from the Greek and used all over Europe în forms , . adapted to the spirit of each rcspective language. It will be impossible and even inadvisable to try to coin purly Bengali terms for things. like the hypostome of a hydrazoun or the laphophore of a molluscoid. I have great doubts about the wisdom of even coicing Sanskrit words in such cases, as treatises of this nature would probably be only road by men who know English. : . r Also words like microscope, stereoscope, and various others would probably be britter taken over bodily. But otherwise I should try to use Bengali as much as possible when dealing with elementary science, the science meant for the people, that is to say, for persons who with the majority of them never use the terms in any language but their Ο W , As regards treatises, such as might be used by College students, by all means let us borrow from Sanskrit, and even from other languages, , like Greek, but preferably from Sanskrit.'
