47 ম্ভবও সম্ভৱ ইহ শুনিয়া রাজা বিশেষ বৃত্তান্ত জিজ্ঞাস করাতে" দ্বিজ সকল অবিকল নিবেদন করিলেন পরে বি চায়কের বিচারে দ্বিজের নিদোষিতা এবপ২ বণিকের শঠ তা সপ্রমাণহওয়াতে রাজা দ্বিজের ধন দ্বিজকে দেওয়াই লেন এবণ বণিকের প্রতি অগ্ৰে নিয়মানুসারে সমুচিত দণ্ড করিয়া পশ্চাৎ তাহার পুত্র তাছাকে সমপণ করিলেন । অতএব সরলে সারল্য করিবেক ও শঠে শঠতা ব্যবহার করিবেক যথা বণিকপুত্রকে দ্বিজ বানর করিয়াছিল । A simple minded brahmun who had contracted a friendship with a merchant, was induced to go on pilgrimage. He possessed a few silver coins which he bound up in a cloth, and depositing them with his friend in full reliance on the sincerity of his friendship, took his departure. But the inerchant inlinediately removed the silver, and bound up in its stead some copper coin in the cloth. The brahmun returning in a short time from his pilgrimage, went to the merchant and asked for the money he had left with him; the deceitful merchant, returned the cloth to him with great craft. The brahmun untying the knot, beheld instead of the money he had bound up, a few piéces of copper money. But as he placed full confi. dence in the sincerity of his attachment, he ask. ed the merchant why he indulged in this act of pleasantry.
