AC'r No. XII. or 1847. : An Act for repealing the Law which authorizes the imposition of fines on Moonsiffs and Sudder Атсета. Whereas it was enacted, by Clause 3, Section 0, Regulation XXIII. of 1814, of the Bengal Colle, that in cuses of misconduct and neglect of duty which might not be of a nature to require the suspension or dismissal of a Moons:ff from his office, the Judge should be authorized to impose on the Moonsiff a fine not exceeding 'Twenty löupees in amount, and that the order of the Judge in such case should be final : And whereas by Section 67 of the said Itegu lation the provision above recited, was declared amongst other things to be applicable to the office of Sudder Ameens, as well as to that of Muonsiffs : , And whereas the provision above recited, is no longer adapted to Moonsiffs and Sudder Ameens, in the more elevated Judicial position which they now occupy : It is therefore hereby enacted, that Clause 3, Section 9, Regulation XXIII. of 18 14, and Section 67 of the said Regulation, so far as it declares the said Clause to be applicable to Sudder Ameens, are repealed. An Act for repealing Act XIV. of 1839 so far as it relates to the Emigration of Natives of India to the Island of Ceylon. I.
