C North by Boitskhanna Street. South by Dhurrumtollah ditto. East by Circular Rosd. West hy Central Road. 4th or lower South Division, bounded A North by Dhurrumtollah Street. South by Park Street. East by Circular Road. West by Chowringhee Road. B South and East by Circular Hoad. North by Park Street, West by Chowringheo Road; or of such other Divisions as the Governor of Bengal Inay from time to time appoint; or in default of election shall be appointed by the said Governor of Bengal, and any vacancies which may from time to time occur in the situations of any of the Commissioners who sliall have been appointed by the said Governor, shall be filled up by the appointment of the said Guvernor. III. And it is hereby enacted, that the said Commissioners shall severally receive such Salarics as may from time to time be fixed by the Governor of Bengal, with the concurrence of the Governor General in Council, and that for the exercise and performanco of all the powers and duties hereinbefore or hereinafter conferred, and imposed upon the said Commissioners, five shall be a quorum. Provided always and it is hereby enacted, that it shall be lawful for any one of the said Commissioners to issue a warrant of Distress for the recovery of any arrears of any rates or taxes accruing under, the said 158th Section of the said Statute or under this Act. IV. And it is hereby enacted, that the time and place and manner of the elections of the said elective Commissioners in each of the said Divisions shall be according to such scheme as shall be agreed upon by a general meeting of the Owners and Occupiers of assessed houses, buildings and grounds in the said Town, consisting of not less than one hundred of the said Owners and Occupiers, and presented on behalf of such meeting to the Governor of Bengal and approved by him. But so as such elections shall take place annually. Provided alwayนี้ and it is hereby enacted, that if no such general meeting shall be held within one month from the passing of this Act, or if no such scheme shall be presented on behalf of such meeting to the Governor of Bengal within one month after such meeting shall have been held, it’ shall then be lawful for the said Governor of Bengal to appoint the whole of the said Commissioners. And it is hereby enacted, that the said Com missionere shall from and after the saiâ day. have N 2 [Government Gazette, 2d November, 1847.] | Q फेडङ्ग । ऐबळककांब्रांज़ झालुः । न क्रिश्न । थार्श्वञ्चलौहं ब्लाडी । পূৰ্ব্ব । ৰifধৱ রাস্তু । । পশ্চিম । মধ্যম ঘ্নাঙ্ক । চতুর্থ অর্থাৎ দক্ষিণ পঙ্গির দক্ষিণ অংশ। তাছার সীমা A উত্তর ধর্মতলার রাস্কা । দক্ষিণ। পার্ক স্ট্রিট । পূৰ্ব্ব । বাহির রাষ্ণু । পশ্চিম । চৌরঙ্গীর কুস্থিা । B দহ্মিণ ও পূৰ্ব্ব । বাছির রাস্তু । উত্তর । পার্ক স্ট্রিট । পশ্চিম । চৌরঙ্গীর রাস্ত । অথবা অন্য যে পলি বাঙ্গল দেশের খ্ৰীযুত গবর্নর সাহেব সময়ে ২ নিরূপণ করেন । কিন্তু ঐ টাক্লদেওনিয়ার ঐ কমিস্যনরদিগকে মনোনীত করিতে যদি ক্রটি করে তবে বাঙ্গলা দেশের উক্ত খ্ৰীযুত গৰ্ববৃনর সাহেব উহারদিগকে নিযুক্ত করিবেন। এব^ যে কমিস্যনৱfদগকে উক্ত প্রযুত গবরমর সাহেব নিযুক্ত করেন উছারদের কোন কাহার পদ কোন সময়ে শূন্য হইলে উক্ত প্রযুত গবরনর সাহেব সেই পদে অন্য ব্যক্তিকে নিযুক্ত কfরবেন ইতি । * ৩ ধারা। এবং ইহান্তে হুকুম হইল যে যে ২ মাচিয়ান সময়ে ২ বাঙ্গল দেশের প্রযুত গবর্নর সাহেব প্রযুত গবরনর জেনারল বাহাদুরের ছন্নুর কৌন্সেলের সমতিক্রমে ধার্য্য করেন তাহ। ঐ ২ কমিস্যনর একে২ পাইবেন এবং ঐ কমিসানরের প্রতি পূৰ্ব্ব অথবা পশ্চাৎ লিখিত ঘে ক্ষমতা অর্পণ হইল এবং যে কার্য্যের ভার দেওয়া গেল তাহ নিৰ্ব্বাহ ও নিষ্কপত্তি করণার্থ পাঁচ জন বৈঠক করিলে কার্য্যসিদ্ধি হইবেক । কিন্তু জানা কৰ্ত্তব্য এবK ইহাতে হুকুম হইল যে উক্ত আক্ট পার্লিমেন্টের ১৫৮ ধারা অথবা এই আইনক্রমে ধার্য্য ঘরের টাক্ল বা করের বাকী আদায়ের নিমিকে ঐ ২ কমিসানরের কোন এক জন ক্রোকী পরওয়ান বাহির করিতে পারেন ইতি । ৪ ধারা। এবং ইহাতে হুকুম হইল যে উক্ত প্রত্যেক পল্লিতে উক্ত মনোনীত কমিস্যনরেরদের মনোনীত করণের সময় ও স্থান ও রীতি যে পাণ্ডুলেখ্যে ঐ শহরের টাক্ল ধার্য্যহ ওয়া বাট ও এমরিৎ ও ভূমির মালিক এবং দৰ্খীলকার ব্যক্তিরদের অনু্যন এক শত জনের সাধারণ বৈঠকে সমভ হয় এবং ঐ বৈঠকের পক্ষে বাঙ্গল। দেশের প্রযুত গবরনর সাহেবের নিকটে প্রস্তাব হয় ও র্তাহার দ্বারা মঞ্জুর হয় সেই পাণ্ডুলেখ্যঅনুসারে ঐ সময়প্রভূতি নিরূপণ হইবেক। কিন্তু এইরূপ মনোনীত করণ কার্য্য প্রতিবৎসরে হইবেক ইতি । ● এবং জান কৰ্ত্তব্য এবং ইহাক্তে হুকুম হইল যে এই আইন জারী হওনের পর যদি এক মাসের মধ্যে সেইরূপ কেfন সাধারগ বৈঠক না হয় অথবা ঐ বৈঠক হওনের পর যদি এক মাসের মধ্যে ঐক্সপ কোন পাগুলেখা ঐ বৈঠকের পক্ষে বাঙ্গল দেশের খ্ৰীযুত গছৰূনর সাহেবের নিকটে জয়পেশ না হয় তবে বাঙ্গল দেশের খ্ৰীযুক্ত গবৱনর সাহেৰ উক্ত সকল কমিমানৱকে আপনি নিযুক্ত কৱিতে পারেন । এবং জমি কর্তব্য এবং ইহাতে হুকুন্ন হইল যে ঐ পাণ্ডুলেখ্য বাঙ্গল দেশের প্রযুত গবর্নর সাহেব সুভ নকরন জেনয়ল বাহাদুরের হজুর কৌন্সেলের সক্ষতির নিমিয়ে তাহার নিকটে পাঠাইবেন এবং যাবৎ ঐ সমত্তি লিখনের দ্বার জ্ঞাপন করা না যায় তাবৎ ঐ পাণ্ডুলেখ্য বলবৎ হুইবেক ন৷ ইতি । ৫ ধার। এবং ইহাতে হুকুম হুইল যে পূৰ্ব্বোক্ত তারিখ অবধি এবং তাছার পর এই আইনের শেষে লেখা
