No. 167 Marine –The following Notifications Nos. 172 and 178, dated the 24th August 1897, issued by the Government of Burma, removing quarantine restrictions against vessels arriving from Karachi, are published for general information. In exercise of the power conferred by Act I of 1870, and with the previous sanction of the Governor-General in Council, the Lieutenant-Governor directs that the rules for quarantine against plague at the ports of Akyab, Moulmein, and Bassein, which were published in this Department Notifications Nos. 13, 17, and 18, dated the 20th, 25th, and 26th January 1897, respectively, shall be cancelled from this date, so far as they relate to vessels arriving from Karachi.
