No. 41.—The Governor General in Council is pleased to a ccept the resignation by Mr. Arthur Phillips, of the Middle Temple, Barrister-at-Law, of his office of Secretary to the Government of India in the Legislative Department, with effect from this date. No. 42.-The Governor General in Council has been pleased to appoint Mr. Dennis Fitzpatrick, of the Bengal Civil Service, Barrister-at-Law and Acting Judge of the Chief Court of the Panjāb, to be Secretary to the Government of India in the Legislative Department, vice Mr. Phillips, resigned. ሤ S. . . . . . . . H. Thornton, Esq., D.c. L & c.s.l., to be an Additional Member of the Council of the Governor General of India for the purpose of making Laws and Regulations, with effect from the 31st October 1877. No. 45. – His Excellency the Viceroy and Governor General, under the authority vested in him by 24 & 25 Vic., Cup. 67, Section 10, has been pleased to nominate G. H. P. Evans, Esq., Barristor-at-Law, to be an Additional Memher of the Council of the Governor General of India for the purpose of making Laws and Regulations, with effect from the 8th instant.
