The 9th July 1877.-The Lieutenant-Governor is pleased, on the recommendation of the Conservator of Forests, to notify that the tracts of country in the Western Dooars, Julpigores district, within the several boundaries described hereafter, have been set aside as reserved forest tracts under the provisions and conditions of Act VII of 1865 and the rules passed in conformity therewith, and have been placed in charge of the Conservator of Forests, Bengal. The cutting of timber, collecting of other forest produce, or otherwise interfering with the forest within the boundaries hereafter described without the permission of the Conservator of Forests or his duly authorized subordinates is prohibited, and any infringement of this prohibition will be dealt with according to the provisions of the Act above quoted, and the rules passed in conformity therewith for Government forests within the Lieutenant. Governorship of Bengal. 龜 Boun DABIEs: 1. The IJulgaon Forest— North.-A line running from the Tasaliti to the Birpiti Nuddee. East.—The Birpiti Nuddee. South. – A line running from the Tasaliti to the Birpiti Nudd.ce. West.—The Tasaliti Nuddee, 曦》 Estimated area, 1,550 acres = 24 square miles. 2. The Dumchi Forest— 龜 Morth.-A line running from the Dubdub Nuddee to a jhora which joins the Sukhan Titi Nuddee. East.— A jhora which joins the Sukhan Titi and the Sukhan Titi Nuddee. South.-The Sukhan Titi Nuddee, and a line from it to the Sap Jhora. West.—The Sap Jhora and the Dubdub Nuddee. Estimated area, 1,950 acres = 3 square miles. 3. The Khairbari Forest— North-west and west.—The Mugnai, Sheragundi, and Gangthing Nuddees. East and south-east.—A line from the junctibn of the Mugnai and Titi Nuddee to the source of the old Tursa, then the old Tursa Nuddee. Estimated area, 4,300 acres = 64 square miles. A. The 10th July 1877—Whereas it appears to the Licut.cnant-Governor of Bengal that land is required to be taken by Government at the public expense for a public purpose, viz. for a Beacon at Patenga, in the village of Patenga, pergunnah Islamabad, zillah Chittagong, it is hereby declared that for the above purpose a piece of land measuring, more or less, 18 dhoors of standard measurement, bounded on the north by Soleemah Bebee's land; on the south by Soleemah Bebee's land; on the east by Soleemah Bebee's land; and on the west by Abdullah's land, is required within the aforesaid village of Patenga. Saiyed Abdullahi, vested with the powers of a Magistrate of the Third Class.
