The 11th July 1877.--Whereas it appears to the Lieutenant-Governor of Bengal that land is required to be taken by Government at the public expense for a public purpose, viz, for widening and improving a portion of the public thoroughfare known as Jaun Bazar Street, it is hereby declared that for the above purpose a piece of land measuring, more or less, 6 chittacks, and bounded on the north by Jaun Bazar Street; on the south and east by No. 70, Jaun Bazar Street, belonging to Juggut Chunder Naug; and west by Newgeepooker East Lane, is required within the town of Calcutta. The 13th July 1877.--Baboo Khetter Gopal Roy, temporary Deputy Magistrate and Deputy Collector, Jessore, is vested with the powers of a Magistrate of the Second Class. The 16th July 1877.-Mr. J. D. Anderson, Assistant Magistrate and Collector, in charge of the sub-division of Jamalpore, in the Mymensingh district, who passed by the higher standard at the half-yearly departmental examination held in May 1877, is vested with the powers of a Magistrate of the 1st Class. The 17th July 1877.—Baboo Russick Chunder Roy is appointed to be an Extra Moonsif in the district of Furreedpore till the next Dusserah vacation, and is posted to Moolfutgunge. Baboo Mohendra Nath Bose, Judge of Small Cause Courts of Hooghly, Serampore, and Howrah, is allowed leave for fifteen days, with effect from the 5th instant, under the rules in Chapter VII of the Civil Leave Code. Baboo Poresh Nath loanerjee, Subordinate Judge of Hooghly, is appointed to act as Judge of the Courts of Small Causes at Hooghly, Serampore, and Howrah during the absence, on leave, of Baboo Mohendro Nath Bose, or until further orders. Baboo Poresh Nath Banerjee will also retain charge of his present office as Subordimate Judge of Hooghly till relieved by Bahoo Upendra Chunder Mullick, [Government Gazette, 24t4 Jr., 1877.]
