Peppe, Sub-Deputy opiādi Agent, Chota Nagpore, is allowed leave for one month, under the rules in Chapter VII of the Civil Leave Code, with effect from the 24th October 1877. ka The 23rd October 1877.—Mr. A. Ross is appointed to officiate as an Assistant Sub-Deputy Opium’Agent in the Benares Agency during the absence, on deputation, of Mr. M. Rivett-Carnac, or until further orders. Mr. Ernest Bienry Bayly is appointed to officiate as an Assistant Sub-Deputy Qpium Agent in the Behar Agency during the absence, on deputation, of Mr. H. G. C. Clarke, or until further orders. Mr. E. Drew is appointed to officiate as an Assistant Sub-Deputy Opium Agent in the Benares Agency during the absence, on deputation, of Mr. T. E. D. Innes, or, until further orders. Medical.-The 15th October 1877.—Surgeon-Major W. H. Spry, of the 10th Regiment Native Infantry, is appointed temporarily to have medical charge of the Civil Station of Julpigoree, in addition to his other duties, with effect from the 4th May 1877. Emigration.—The 4th October 1877.—Surgeon C. H. Joubert, Officiating Protector of Emigrants and Superintendent of Emigration, Calcutta, is allowed leave for 82 days, under the rules in Chapter VII of the Civil Leave Code, with effect from the 22nd October 1877, or such subsequent date as he may avail himself of it. The 13th October 1877.- Major Richard Beadon, Brigade Major, Fort William, is appointed to act temporarily as Officiating Protector of Emigrants and 8uperintendent of Emigration, Calcutta, during the absence, on leave, of Surgeon C. The 20th October 1877.-It is notified, under Section 75 of Act X (B.C.) of 1871 (the District Road Cess Act), that the Boad-Cess Committee of the district of Midnapore have, under Section 74 of the Act, determined to levy the cesses under that Act for the year running from the 1st October 1877 at the following rates, being the maximum rates, and the said rates are published accordingly — I. Six pies, or two pice, on every rupee of the annual value of lands under Part II of the Act, and on the net profits of immoveable property under Part III of the Act. II.
