Geneaal.—The 22nd October 1877–Mr. W. H. Verner, Joint-Magistrate and Deputy Collector of the Second Grade, on furlough, is promoted to the First Grade of JointMagistrates and Deputy Collectors, vice Mr. W. H. Grimley. Mr. J. Scobell Armstrong, Assistant Magistrate and Collector, is oppointed to be a Joint-Magistrate and Deputy Collector of the Second Grade, vice Mr. W. H. Verner. Mr. Armstrong will, however, continue to officiate until further orders as a Joint-Magistrate and Deputy Collector of the First Grade. Mr. W. M. Clay, Joint-Magistrate and Deputy Collector of the Second Grade, on furlough, is promoted to the First Grade of Joint-Magistrates and Deputy Collectors, vice Mr. G. L. T. Harris. Mr. C. H. Vowell, Assistant Magistrate and Collector, on furlough, is appointed to be a Joint-Magistrate and Deputy Collegtor of the Second Grade, vice Mr. W. M. Clay. The 5th November 1877.-Mr. H. L. Dampier, c.s., a Member of the Board of Revenue, having reported his return from furlough on the 24th October 1877, is allowed subsidiary leave from that date to the 26th idem inclusive, to enable him to join his appointment. The Right Hon’ble the Secretary of State for India han been pleased to grant extension of furlough for one week to Mr. W. J. Money, C.S.I. Ra கம் Mr. J. E. B. Jeffery, c.s., is appointed to act, until further orders, as Joint-Magistrate and Deputy Collector of the First Grade, and is posted to Backergunge. [Government Gasette, 13th November 1877.]
