( 'శిr8 ) * {Pawr to: The 18th November 1827-Mr. R. Cornish, Officiating folut-Magistrate and Deputy Collector, on duty in the Durjeeling district, is transferred to Hooghly. The Right Hon’ble the Secretary of State for India has been pleased to grant extension of leave to Mr. R. S. T. MacEwen for a period of six months on medical certificate. Mr. E. McL. Smith, Officiating Deputy Magistrate and Deputy Collector, at present employed on settlement work, Sonthal Pergunnahs, is allowed leave for three months, under the rules in Chapter VII of the Civil Leave Code. Mr. Thomas Edward Vaughan, who has recently been appointed to be a member of the Bengal Civil Service, is appointed to be an Assistant Magistrate and Collector in the Presidency Division, and is posted to the Moorshedabad district. PoLIcr.–The 9th November 1877.–In modification of the orders of the 18th ultimo, published in the Calcutta Gazette of the 81st idem, Mr. G. D. Graham, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Third Grade, is promoted to the Second Grade of Assistant Superintendents of Police, vice Mr. W. W. Bertelsen, but will continue to act until farther orders as an Assistant Superintendent of Police of the First Grade. i Mr. M. F. Beamish, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Backergunge, is allowed furlough for one year, under Section 7, Supplement F of the Civil Leave Cede, together with subsidiary leave for three weeks, under Section 10 of the Supplement. Mr. C. A. Soppitt, Officiating Assistant Superintendent of Police, Pubna, is transferred to Backergunge. The 13th November 1877.-Mr. Charles Raban, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Shahabad, is re-appointed to act in the First Grade of Assistant Superintend onts of Police, with effect from the 5th instant, the date on which he was relieved of his charge by Mr. W. Campbell at Julpigoree. Mrs J. Masters, District Superintendent of Police, having reported his return from leave on the 24th October 1877, is allowed subsidiary leave for twenty-one days, with effect from that date, to enable him to join his appointment at Dinagepore. Education.—The 10th November 1877–Mr. J. H. Gilliland is appointed to the Fourth Class of the Bengal Educational Service, with effect from the 15th October last, and . is attached temporarily to the Presidency College as a Professor, with effect from the date on which he joined that college. The 12th November 1877.--Baboo Radha Nath Roy, Deputy Inspector of Schools, Balasore, is appointed to be Joint-Inspector of Schools in Orissa until further orders. Mr. G. A. Stack, Professor in the Dacca College, is appointed to have charge of the Office of Inspector of Schools, Eastern Circle, in addition to his own duties, during the absence, on leave, of Mr. W. T. Webb, or until further orders, ß – , orium.—The 18th November 1877–Mr. C. W. Fenton, Officiating Assistant Sub-Deputy Opium Agent, attached to the Denares Agency, is allowed leave for one month, under Section 3-1, Supplement F of the Civil Leave Code, in extension of the leave granted him under orders of the 28th August last, published in the Calcutta Gazette of the 29th idem. Medical—The 10th October 1877–Dr. W. Forsyth, Civil Medical Officer, Dinagepore, is allowed leave for six months, under Section 3, Supplement F of the Civil Leave Code, together with the usual subsidiary leave under Section 10 of the Supplement, with effect from the date on which he made over charge of his duties. ف The 1st November 1877–Dr. W. Forsyth reported his departure from India on sick leave on the 20th October 1877. " . The 6th November 1877—First Grade Assistant Surgeon Sreenath Mookerjee, in charge of the Hooghly Emambarrah Hospital, on leave, is appointed to have charge of the Charitable Dispensary at Mymensingh. second Grade Assistant Surgeon Grish Chunder Chatterjee, now in temporary charga of the Emambarrah Hospital at Hooghly, is confirmed in that appointment. r The 9th November 1877–Dr. R.
