Hyde, Reporter for the Indian Law Reports, in the High Court, Calcutta, leave of absence for eight months, with effect from the 14th March. No. 4.—Mr. K. M. Chatterji, Barrister-at-Law, has been appointed to officiate as a Reporter, for the Indian Law Reports in the High Court, Calcutta, vice Mr. Hyde. S. HARVEY JAMEs, Offg. Secy, to the Govt. of India. HOME I) EPARTMENT, NOTIFICATIONS.–JUDrcial. Calcutta, the 24th February 1886. No. 295,-Under the provisions of the Act of Parliament 24 and 25 Vic., Cap. 104, section 7, the Honorable the President in Council is pleased to appoint Mr. J. P. Grant, c s., District and Sessions Judge, Hooghly, to officiate as a Judge of the High Court of Judica ture at Fort William in Bengal, vice the Honorable Mr. Justice Tottenham, proceeding on furlough, or until further orders. to No. 298.-Under the provisions of the Act of Parliament 24 and 25 Vio., Cap. 104, section 7, the Honorable the President in Council is pleased to appoint Mr. G. E. Porter, cs., Judicial Commissioner, Chota Nagpore, to officiate as a Judge of the High Court of Judicature at Fort William in Bengal, vice the Honorable Mr. Justice Field, proceeding on furlough, or until further orders. The 26th February 1886. Mo. 820,-Her Majesty's Secretary of State has granted an extension of leave, on medical certificate for six months, to Mr. A. No. 885-In exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 8 of the Indian stamp Act, 1879, the Honourable the President in Council is pleased to remit, both prospectively and retrospectively, in the whole of British India, the Stamp duty with which a deed of power executed on the occasion of a marriage between Muhamedans is chargeable.
