Charles, District Superintendent of Police, Lohardugga, is appointed to act, until further orders, in the third grade of District Superintendents of Police, with effect from the 17th December 1885, vice Mr. A. H. James. Mr. C. A. Fisher, District Superintendent of Police, Tipperah, is appointed to act, until futher orders, in the fourth grade of District Superintendents of Police, wrth effect from the 17th December 1885, vice Mr. T. G. Charles. Mr. S. V. Tayler, Temporary Assistant Superintendent of Police, Backergunge, is appointed to act, until further orders, as an Assistant Superintendent of Police, with effect from the 17th December 1885. •4 EDUCATION –-The 25th February 1886.—Baboo Uma Nath Ghosal, Law Lecturer, Krishnaghur College, is allowed leave for one year, under section 184, chapter X of the Civil Leave Code, in extension of the leave granted to him under the order of the 20th February 1885 t The 27th February 1886.—Mr. P. Bruhl, Lecturer, Rajshahye College, is promoted to class III of the Subordinate Educational Service, with effect from the llth September 1885, vice Baboo Ambika Charan Bose Baboo Kuuja Behary Bose, Third Assistant in the Office of the Director of Public Instruction, is promoted to class IV of the Subordinate Educational Service, with effect from the 11th September 1885, vice Mr. P. Bruhl. Opium —The 1st March 1886. —Mr. J E. Hand, Officiating Sub-Deputy Opium Agent, Rai Bareilly, is allowed furlough for eight months, under section 132, chapter X of the Civil Leave Code, with effect from the 1st April 1886 M. H. Osborne, Sub-Deputy Opium Agent, Basti, is allowed furlough for eleven months and twenty-eight days, under section 50, chapter V of the Civil Leave Code, with effect from the 15th instant, or such subsequent date as he may avail himself of 1t. Mr. T F. Peppe, Sub-Deputy Opium Agent, Shahabad, is allowed leave for three months, under sections 72 and 74, chapter V of the Civil Leave Code, with effect from the 25th instant, or such subsequent date as he may avail himself of it. Mr. W. T. Ryves, Assistant Sub-Deputy Opium Agent, Behar Agency, is appointed to act as Sub-Deputy Opium Agent of Shahabad, during the absence, on leave, of Mr. T. F. Peppe, or until further orders. Manine —The 2nd March 1886–Mr. J. C. Hunton, Officiating Deputy Shipping Master of Calcutta, is confirmed in that appointment, vice Mr. EI. W. W. Ellis, deceased. Mr W. G. Hannay is appointed to be Assistant Shipping Master of Calcutta, vice, Mr J. C. Hun ton. 懿 Port Trust – The 2nd March 1886–The following gentlemen are appointed to be Commissioners for making Improvements in the Port of Calcutta --

  • A Mr. W Petric, vice Mr. R. Muller, resigned.

,, D. Cruickshank, vice Mr. W. Craik, resigned. Mrpical the 20th February 1886–Surgeon J. B. Gibbons, Resident Physician Medical College Hospital, Calcutta, is appointed to act temporarily as Professor of Patho logy in the Medical College, Calcutta, in addition to his own duties. The 25th Februar y 1886 —Surgeon J. B. Gibbons, Resident Physician, Medical College Hospital, Calcutta, is allowed leave for three months, under section 72, chapter V of the Civil Leave Code, with cffect from the 1st March next, or from such subsequent date as he may avail himself of it. Assistant Surgeon Debendro Nath De, First Demonstrator of Anatomy, Medical College, Calcutta, is appointed to act, in addition to his own duties, as Resident Physician, College Hospital, during the absence, on leave, of Surgeon J.
