Jackson, Civil Surgeon of Moorshedabad, are placed temporarily at the disposal of the Government of India, in the Home partmeಲ್ಯ The 2nd March 1886.-The services of Surgeon-Major A. Crombie, M. D.; Civil , Surgeon of Dacca, are placed temporarily at the disposal of the Government of India, in the Home Department. Surgeon-Major E. Sanders, Officiating Civil Surgeon, Jessore, is appointed to act as Civil Surgeon of Moorshedabad, during the absence, on deputation, of Brigade-Surgeou C. J. J. Jackson, or un til further orders. The following notifications are republished from the Assam Gazette.-- No. 19.—The 17th February 1886 —Baboo Rajani Nath Mitter, Third Munslf of Habiganj, in the district of Sylhet, has been granted leave of absence for two months, under section 128 of the Civil Leave Code, in extension of the leave granted to him by this office Notification No. 73 of the 24th October 1885. The whole period of the leave will be reckoned as leave on medical certificate. No. 20.--Baboo Pramatha Krishna Singha, M.A., H.L., Officiating Munslf of Purneah, is appointed to act as a Munslf in the district of Sylhet, to be ordinarily stationed at IIabiganj, in the place of Baboo Rabi Chandra Ganguli, First Munslf of Habiganj, who was granted leave by Notification No 17 of the 5th February 1886. Notification No. 18 of the 5th February 1886 is cancelled, and Baboo Manmatha Chatter]1, B.A, B L , Officiating Third Munslf of Habiganj, will continue to act for Baboo Rajani Nath Mitra, who has obtained extension of leave. No. 85 —The 18th February 1886 —Mr. R. B. McCabe made over charge of the treasury and office of Deputy Commissioner, Naga Hills, to Mr. R. T. Greer, and availed himself of subsidiary leave preparatory to furlough, in the forenoon of the 6th February 1886, Е. В. The 25th February 1886 —With reference to the notification of the 19th December 1885, it is hereby notified that at the examination of candidates for admission to the Opium Departument, held in the Senate House of the Calcutta University in January 1886, the three gentlemen named below succeeded in obtaining the highest aggregate of marks-- (1) Mr. C. H. Seymour Burt. (2) , , Charles J. C. Ricker (8) ,, E. H. Allum. These gentlemen will be appointed to fill vacancies in the Opium Department as they occur, according to the order in which their names have been placed. fo F B.
