NOTIFICATION.—By the Government of India, Home Department. o IN continuation of Legislative Department Notification No. 46, dated 14th October 1881, publishing the Statute 44 and 45 Vic., cap. 69 (the Fugitive Offenders Act, 1881), the following order of Her Mäjesty in Council, dated the 12th December 1885, is published for general information – கம் AT THE COURT AT WINDSOR. Whcreas by reason of the contiguity of the group of British possessions hereinafter mentioned, and the frequent intercommunication between those possessions, it seems expedient to IIer Majesty and conducive to the better administration of Justice therein, to apply Part II of the Fugitive Offenders Act, 1881, thereto Now, therefore, Her Majesty, by virtue of the powers in this behalf by the Fugitive Offenders Act, 1881, or otherwise vested in Her Majesty, as pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:– 1. On and after the 1st day of July 1886, Part II of the Fugitive Offenders Act, 1881, shall apply to the group of British possessions heraunder mentioued, that is to say - Her Majesty’s East Indian Territories. Ceylon. The Straits Settlements. 2. The Governor-General of India and the Governors of Ceylon and the Straits Settlements shall cause this Order to be proclaimed in the Territories and Colonies under their respective governments. And the Right Hon’ble Lord Randolph Churchill and the Right Hon’ble Freder.ck A. Stanley, two of Her Majesty's Principal Secretaries of State, are to give the necessary directions herein accordingly. Q incoxx Tax "虹 The 5th March 1886 No 1042 —The Hon’ble the President in Council has been pleased to make the following rules under scetion 88, Act II of 1886, an Act for imposing a tax on income derived from sources other than agriculture — 1 Contributions, whether compulsory or voluntary, made to Provident Funds by Railway servants to whom clause (y) of section 5, Act II of 1886, loes not apply, shall be exempt from liability to assessment under that Act on the same conditious and to the same extent as sums deducted from salary under the authority or with the permission of the Government are exempt under the said clause 2 The Provident Fund of a Railway Provident Institution constituted under rule approved by the Governor-General in Council shall be deemed to be a “Service Fund’” within the meaning of IRule 13 of the Notification of the Government of India, Department of Finance and Commerce, No. 593, dated the 5th February 1886.
