পাত হইত তিনি অতিভয়ানক এক যুদ্ধ জাহাজের বহর প্রস্তুত করিয়া বোম্বেটিয়ারদিগকে উচ্ছিন্ন করিলেন। তাঁহার প্রজাগণ অর্দ্ধ সভ্যতাবস্থায় ব্যবস্থা ও বিদ্যাহীন তারূপে কাল যাপন করিত তিনি তাহারদের মধ্যে বিদ্যাদির অনুরাগ জন্মাইলেন এবং, এমত ব্যবস্থা সংহিতার সৃষ্টি করিলেন যে হিন্দুরদের মধ্যে মনুসংহিতা যেমন মান্য তেমনি উত্তরকালে গ্রীকেরদের কর্ত্তৃক তাঁহার সংহিতা মান্যা হইল। অপর ঐ উপদ্বীপে তিনি যে সকল রাজনীতি বিধান করিলেন তাহা তাঁহার সংস্থাপিত সদ্ব্যবহারের চিরস্থায়িত্বকরণের অতি উপযুক্ত এবং গ্রীক দেশ ও মিনসের ব্যবস্থাপ্রভৃতির প্রতি গ্রীকেরা আশ্চর্য্য সমাদরপূর্ব্বক নিত্য অবলোকন করিতেন। তৎপরে কবিগণ তাঁহার আয়ুর বিবরণ সুশোভিত করিয়া জুপিটর দেবতা তাঁহার পিতা বলিয়া আরোপ করত যমালয়ের বিচারকর্ত্তৃত্বপদে তাঁহাকে নিযুক্ত করিলেন।
