In 1926 you became the Chairman of the Nadia District Board and under your charge this body has become efficient and established on a sound basis. You are also a nominated Commissioner of the Ranaghat Muncipality in whose affairs you take lively interest. In appreciation of your services, the title of "Rai Bahadur' has becn bestowed upon you.
