7. ३भ *ब्रिा5 LORD IMINTO AT NAWABGANJ. His Excellency the Viceroy, Lady Minto, and their daughters and a party accompanied by the Military Secretary and the A. D. O paid, by appointment, a visit to the Thakurbati of Babu Sridhar and Bansidhar Mandal, at Nawabganj, last sunday afternoon at 5. P. M. They were received by Babus Adaita Charan Mandal who had spared no pains to accord to their excellencies a right regal welcome. Lord Minto's charming manners and affability made an excellent impression upon the simple-minded country folk and their excellencies appeared to take much interest in the sacred edifice and all that they saw in it. The clay figures from Krishmagore specially attracted Viceregal attention. His Excellency seemed to be delighted with their reception and the memory of this visit of the Burra Lat' will ever remain geen in this locality”. বড়লাটের পরিদর্শন স্মৃতি অক্ষুন্ন রাখিবার জন্য র্তাহারা ঠাকুর বাটীতে লর্ডমিণ্টোর একটী মৰ্ম্মর প্রস্তর ফলক প্ৰতিষ্ঠা করেন। শ্ৰীধর মণ্ডল মহাশয়ের দ্বিতীয় পুত্র বাবু অদ্বৈতচরণ মণ্ডল। ১৮৪৭ খৃষ্টাব্দে ২৬ এপ্রিল জন্মগ্রহণ করেন এবং ১৮৬৪ সালে বারাকপুর সরকারী স্কুল হইতে প্ৰবেশিকা পরীক্ষায় উত্তীর্ণ হইয়া প্রেসিডেন্সী কলেজে ভক্তি হন এবং ১৮৬৯ ৷৷ ১৮৭০ খৃষ্টাব্দে আইনের লেকচার শেষ করেন। এই সময় তাহার পিতা বাৰু শ্ৰীধর মণ্ডল ও খুল্লতাত বাবু বংশীধর মণ্ডল বাদ্ধক্যে উপনীত হওয়ায় ব্যবসায়িকাৰ্য্যে মনোনিবেশ করিতে তিনি বাধ্য হন। ১৮৮৬ খৃষ্টাব্দের কয়েক বৎসর পূর্বে “তঁহাকে মিঃ এ পোডলার বড়লাটের দরবারে উপস্থাপিত করেন।
