লোক রহস্য উদাহরণ (ক) বাক্স তোরঙ্গ প্রভৃতিকে স্বামী বলা যায় না, কেন না, যদিও সে সকল অস্থাবর সম্পত্তি বটে, তথাপি সচল নহে। (খ) গোর বাছারও স্বামী নহে, কেন না, যদিও গোর বাছার সচল বটে, কিন্তু তাহদের একটু ভূমিতে কাৰ্য্য করিবার ক্ষমতা আছে। সুতরাং তাহারা কােন শীলােকের সম্পর্শ অধীনে নহে ॥ (গ) বিবাহিত পরিষেরাই স্বেচ্ছাধীন কোন কাৰ্য্য করিতে পারেন না, এজন্য গোর বাছািরকে স্বামী না বলিয়া তাঁহাদিগকেই সবামী বলা যাইতে পারে। ৩ ধারা। যে সবামীর উপর যে সন্ত্রীলোকের সম্পত্তি বলিয়া সম্ভবত্ব আছে, সেই সন্ত্রীলোক সেই সবামীর পত্নী বা সত্ৰী । অথের কথা সম্পপত্তি বলিয়া যাহার উপর সর্বত্বাধিকার থাকে, তাহাকে মারপিট করিবারও স্বত্বাধিকার থাকিবে । ৪ ধারা। পািব্বজন্মকৃত পাপের জন্য পরিষের প্রায়শ্চিত্তবিশেষকে বিবাহ বলে। CHAPTER II. OF PUNISHMENT. 5. The punishments to which offenders are liable under the provisions of the Code are: FIRST, IMPRISONMENT. Which may be either within the four walls of a bed-room, or within the four walls of a house. Imprisonment is of two descriptions, namely, (1) Rigorous, that is, accompanied by hard words. (2) Simple. SECONDLY, Transportation, that is to another bed-room. THIRDLY, Matrimonial servitude. FoURTHLY, Forfeiture of Pocket-money. 6. "Capital punishment' under this Code, means that the wife shall run away to her paternal roof, or to some other friendly house, with the intention of not returning in a hurry. 7. The following punishments are also provided for minor offences. FIRST, Contemptuous silence on the part of the wife. SECONDLY, Frowns. THIRDLY, Tears and lamentation. FoURTHLY, Scolding and abuse. CHAPTER IV. GENERAL ExCEPTIONS. 8. Nothing is an offence which is done by a wife. 9. Nothing is an offence which is done by a husband in obedience to the commands of a wife. 10. No person in the married state shall be entitled to plead any other circumstances as grounds of exemption from the provisions of the Matrimonial Penal Code. S6.
