I think that the thanks of the Government should be accorded to Babu Ram Lall Chukerbutty for the zeal and energy he has displayed in laboring at this work for the past two years, and that the Lieutenant Governor's appreciation of this unrequited service should be communicated to the Surgeon-General of the Indian Medical Department. The Babu has peculiar qualifications for this kind of work, which might be made available to his own advantage, and the good of some other institutions engaged in medical education."-Report on the Dispensaries, N. W. P., 1872. "Last Saturday our popular Assistant Surgeon Babu Ram Lall Chuckerbutty left this station for Moradabad where he has been transferred. The Railway platform was thronged with the elite of Allahabad, headed by Babu Gya Pershad Roy Bahadur, to bid him farewell. Babu Ram Lall was so much loved by the Native community here that Babu Gya Pershad, as its representative, accompanied him as far as Cawnpore, and I heard that Babu Nilcomul Mitter would have also escorted him as far as Agra, had he not unfortunately fallen sick. A meeting was held in which the Babu was presented with a gold watch and chain as a token of the appreciation of the valuable services he rendered to the Natives here."-Indian Mirror. 1876.
