Tributes to martyrs

He further said that the victory in the polls was not the ultimate victory. However he said that the victory in the polls was not the victory of his won or his party. It was the victory of the seven crore people of Bengal, nay the whole repressed people of Pakistan. He said that the people of Bengal would never forget the martyrs who would be remembered in all ages.

Addressing the audience he said that there was no reason to be complacent on the basis of election results about the realization of the demands. IIe said that it might so happen that the debt of the martyrs would have to be repaid in blood. He called upon the seven crore people of Bengal to be prepared for the future struggle, if needed.

Speaking about the elections, the Awami League chief said that “We had no money, no car, no wealth, but we had Iman (faith) and the common man with us, and that was our wealth”.
