Bonnerjee নামে স্থপরিচিত) একটি ভূমিকা গ্রহণ করিয়াছিলেন। পাইকপাড়ার রাজভ্রাতৃদ্বয় কর্তৃক বেলগেছিয়া থিয়েটারের প্রতিষ্ঠার পূর্বে এ দেশে অভিনয় ব্যাপারে এরূপ সমারোহ কখনই দৃষ্ট হয় নাই। কলিকাতার প্রায় সমস্ত সন্ত্রান্ত যুরোপীয় ও দেশীয় ব্যক্তিগণ অভিনয়স্থলে উপস্থিত ছিলেন। এত দর্শক উপস্থিত হইয়াছিলেন যে, তাহাদিগের স্থান সঙ্কুলান করা দুষ্কর হইয়াছিল ; এবং অনেককেই বিফলমনোরথ হইয়া গৃহে প্রত্যাগমন করিতে হইয়াছিল। কালীপ্রসন্ন রাজা পুরুরবার ভূমিকা গ্রহণ করিয়া অতি সুন্দর অভিনয় করিয়াছিলেন। ইহার অভিনয় সম্বন্ধে yহরিশ্চন্দ্র মুখোপাধ্যায় সম্পাদিত ‘হিন্দু --প্লেটিয়ট লিখিয়াছিলেন – “The part of the king Pururoba represented by Baboo Kali Prosonno Sing was admirably done. His mien was right royal, and his voice truly imperial. From the first scene of the play when he with his pleasant companion, a civilised buffoon, commenced to interchange words of fellowship, to the last scene when he was translated with his fair Oorbosi to heaven, he kept the attention of the audience continuously alive and made a most gladsome impression on their minds. Every word he gave utterance to was suited to the action which followed it. In the language of the poet he did truly hold the mirror up to nature.”
