I have now about 6OO Rs, with me ; when I go to London it will cost us about 35o a month and I must live apart from my family till July next, after which I can live in France, for, as you know, I have no occasion to live among English people to improve my knowledge of that language. I have not money enough to do all this unless you get me a great deal from the mortgage of my property ;-besides, I wish to leave my children behind, they being too young to go backwards and forwards ; and I want them to be 'thoroughly Europeanized.
