No dynasty of this name is obherwise known. Mr E. A. Gait who is the best authority on old Assa in history, writes to me :- "I do not know anything about the Kamra dynasty mentioned in verse 8. The name does not occur in any Buraji, Puthi or tradition with which I am acquainted. Mr. Gait's suggestion has a certain plausibility. The date of Hituen Tsia ng's visit is 640 A.D. The date of our grant is about the middle of the 11th century (c. 1050 AID.) and accordingly that of Brahmapala about 1000 A.D. There is thus an interval of about 360 years between Hiuen Tsiang and Brahmapala ; and it may have been somewhat longer. As will be shown presently, between Bajradatta and Brahmapala bhere were 21 kings. At the rate of 20 years for a reign these kings would take up 420 years, or at the rate of 15 years, 15 years.
