অন্য কোনও স্থানে উক্ত সভার অধিবেশন হইয়া, শেষে মাণিকতলার একটা বাটীতে অধিবেশন হইত। ডিরোজিও নিজে উক্ত সভার সভাপভি ও উমাচরণ বহু নামক একজন যুবক প্রথম সম্পাদক ছিলেন। রসিককৃষ্ণ মল্লিক, কৃষ্ণমোহন বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়, রামগোপাল ঘোষ, রাধানাথ শিকদার, দক্ষিণারঞ্জন মুখোপাধ্যায়, হরচন্দ্র ঘোষ প্রভৃতি উক্ত সভার প্রধান বক্তা, রামতনু লাহিড়ী, শিবচন্দ্র দেব. প্যারীচাঁদ মিত্র, প্রভৃতি অপরাপর উৎসাহী সভ্য শ্রোতারূপে উপস্থিত থাকিতেন। এই সভা অল্পদিনের মধ্যে লোকের দৃষ্টিকে এতদূর আকর্ষণ করিয়াছিল যে উহার অধিবেশনে এক এক দিন ডেবিড হেয়ার, লর্ড উইলিয়াম বেণ্টিঙ্কের প্রাইভেট সেক্রেটারি Col. Benson, পরবর্ত্তী সময়ের এডজুটাণ্ট জেনেরাল Col. Beatson, বিশপ কলেজের অধ্যক্ষ Dr. Mills প্রভৃতি সন্ত্রান্ত ব্যক্তিগণ উপস্থিত থাকিতেন, এবং সভ্যগণের বক্তৃভা শুনিয়া বিস্ময় ও আনন্দ প্রকাশ করিতেন।
 এই সভায় অধিবেশনে সমুদয় নৈতিক ও সামাজিক বিষয় স্বাধীন ও অসংকুচিত ভাবে বিচার করা হইত। তাহার ফলস্বরূপ ডিরোজিওর শিষ্যদিগের মনে স্বাধীন চিন্তার স্পৃহা উদ্দীপ্ত হইয়া উঠিল; এবং তাহারা অসংকোচে দেশের প্রাচীন রীতি নীতির আলোচনা আরম্ভ করিলেন। তাহার ফল কিরূপ দাঁড়াইল তাহা পূর্ব্বোক্ত হরমোহন চট্টোপাধ্যার মহাশয়ের লিখিত বিবরণ হইতে উদ্ধৃত করিতেছি;—
