“The mode which these people adopt in all their quarrels to wreak their vengeance on each other is by joining the Choars or turbulent and disaffected Pikes or hiring them to commit the most terrible out-rages and devastations on those whom they look upon as hostile to their interests.”
অর্থাৎ “এই ভ্রাতাদ্বয় পরস্পরের বিরুদ্ধে শত্রুত। সাধন জন্য চোয়াড়দের সহিত মিলিত হয় কিংবা চোয়াড়দিগকে অর্থে বশীভূত করিয়া তাহাদের দ্বারা যে সকল লোক তাহাদের স্বার্থের অন্তরায় তাহাদের বিরুদ্ধে অমানুষিক অত্যাচার করিয়া থাকে।”
বরাহভূমের অবস্থা সম্বন্ধে অন্য এক স্থানে ষ্ট্রাচি সাহেব লিখিয়াছেন,—
“According to the best information I am able to obtain Burrabhum has seldom or never been known in & state of perfect tranquility, nor has the Zemindar ever expected to acquire a sufficient control over the different descriptions of persons within the estate to prevent their committing depredations either on himself, on each other, or on the neighbouring Zemindars.”
অর্থাৎ “আমি অনুসন্ধানে যতদূর অবগত হইয়াছি, বরাহভূম পরগণায় কখনও সম্পূর্ণভাবে শান্তি সংস্থাপিত হয় নাই। কিংবা বিভিন্ন প্রকৃতির যে সকল লোক এখানে বাস করে জমীদার কখন তাহাদের উপর সম্পূর্ণভাবে নিজ কর্ত্তৃত্ব প্রতিষ্ঠিত করিতে
