ΕΕ και সেই মসজিদ গৃহেই বুদ্ধ ইন্সপেদিয়ার তাহাকে বধ করেন। এই হত্য জনিত দোষে মসজিদটি পরিত্যক্ত হয়। অদ্যাপি অপূর্ণাবস্থায় ইহা পথিপার্থে দণ্ডায়মান রহিয়াছে ৷ * শাহজলালের দরগায় কয়েকটি প্রস্তরলিপি দৃষ্ট হয়। মসজিদের অভ্যস্তরস্থিত একখানি প্রস্তর লিপিতে লিখিত আছে যে, শামসউদ্দীন ইউসুফ শাহের সময়ে ইহা নির্শিত হয়।+ ইউসুফ শাহের শাসনকাল খৃঃ ১৪৭৪ হইতে ১৪৮১ খৃষ্টাব্দ পর্য্যন্ত ঃ ইউসুফ শাহ পূর্বকথিত দুইজন শামসউদ্দীন হইতে বিভিন্ন ব্যক্তি। তিনি শাহজলালের প্রতি ভক্তিমান হইলেও তাহার পরবর্তী ছিলেন। ইউসুফের নামাঙ্কিত শিলালিপি বোধ হয় শাহজলালের দরগায় নিৰ্ম্মিত আদি মসজিদের প্রস্তর লিপি।
- Maulvi Abdul Hafez the present Sarkum of the Shah Jalal’s Temple writes:—“The mason promissed to complete it before the Ede-day, but as the mason failed, he was beheaded and mixed with
materials. The ulamas thereom gave Fatwa that the masjid was unfit for prayer and hence it remains incomplete to this day.” ণ এই প্রস্তুর লিপির যে অংশ পাঠ করা যায় তাহার অনুবাদ এইরূপ:— “ *** Abdul Muzaffar Yusuff Shah, son of Barbak Shah, the king, son of Mahmud Shah, the king. May God prospetuate his rule and kingdom ! And the builder is the great and exaltod Majlis the wazir, who exerts himself in good deeds and pious acts; the Majlis -i-A'la may God preserve him against the evils and ***.” it “The oldest historical record is an inscription on a stone inside the famous shrine of Shah Jalal at Sylhet. This was prepared in the time of Shamsuddin Yusuf Shah, who recited in Bengal from 1474 to 1481, but unfortunately only part of it is decipherable in its present position.” Gait's History of Assam.
