*१ झांझ-छौवन পরীক্ষা করেন। তাহার পর সেকেণ্ড ক্লাসে উঠয় ৩০ টাকার সিনিয়র স্কলাধিপ ( সেই বংসৰ্বই উচ্চ শ্রেণীর জন্য ছাত্রবৃত্তি প্রথম নিৰ্দ্ধারিত হয় ) পাইয়া প্রথম শ্রেণীতে উঠি । দুই বৎসর উক্ত স্কলার্ষিপ ভোগ করি । তাহার পর ৪০ টাকার ছাত্রবৃত্তি প্রাপ্ত হইয়া দুই বৎসর তাহা ভোগ করিয়া কলেজ পরিত্যাগ করি । তখন সৰ্ব্বোত্তম ছাত্রদিগের প্রদত্ত পরীক্ষার প্রশ্নের উত্তর সম্বাদপত্রে প্রকাশিত হইত এবং টাউন হলে গবর্ণর জেনারেল আসিয়া স্বহস্তে অতি নিম্নশ্রেণীস্থ বালকদিগকে পর্যান্ড পারিতোষিক বিতরণ করতেন । দুই এক বার সাহিত্য, পুরাবৃত্ত ও ধৰ্ম্মনীতিতে আমার প্রদত্ত উত্তর সম্ব দি পত্রে ছাপা হয় ও ধৰ্ম্মনীতিতে একটি রৌপ্য মেডেল প্রাপ্ত হই .
