My submission regarding Anathbandu, Annapurna Asram and the Album of the Noblemen of India. DEAR SIR, With my best wishes for the Bijaya-Dusera season I forward per Book Post the 3rd number (Bhadra) of the “Anathbandhu' and hope on perusal, you will find the subjects dealt in it are useful and interesting. And I shall be glad to have your suggestions and opinion, My object in starting this Bengali Monthly Journal “Anathbandhu' is to support the Annapurma Asram, an industrial and religious home for the poor, where local industries will he encouraged and various works will be executed by the inmates of the home who will be kept, fed, clothed and given medical aid in times of need. The subscription of the “Anathbandhu' is only Rs, 10 for a year, not even a Rupee a month; but it serves a great object. It is not binding on the subscribers of the Journal to a pay donation or monthly subscription to the Annapurna Asram fund. Only such noblemen whose portraits and sketches of life appear in the Journal are expected to help the Asram Fund, I mean the noblemen of India. All the publications which printed likenesses and life-sketches of the noblemen charged very heavily, and printed the portraits in plain Black Ink. But we have been printing the portraits in true colours and it costs very much of India, more tham plain printing, and therefore I crave fair consideration from my patrons and friends All donations and monthly subscriptions will be gratefully acknowledged in the columns of the 'Anathbandhu' and those noblemen who will materially help the Asram will have their names engraved on a marble slab and fived at the sate of the Asram as a permanent memorial. There will be an annual Evhibition in the Asram of the goods manufactured in the Asrar by its inmates, and arrangements will be made for rollection of Indian products and art works at the same time for exhibition; and suitable prizes will be given to encourage local products and arts. I shall fix a moderate price for the Album of the Noblemen of India, at its starting, as the blocks appearing in the columns of the 'Anathbandhu' will be utilized. I thankfully acknowledge receipt of some photographs and sketches but regret some of my important patrons and friends are neglecting this rather important matter, and hope to be favoured by them early. In sending photographs kindly note complexion and colours of the dress and ornaments and let the portrait preferably be in oriental dress. A laborious and expensive venture like this should be encouraged by the nobility and gentry of all India. Some of my patrons and friends du not know Bengali, but I believe Bengali-reading gentlemen are all over India to explain the benefits of the subjects dealt in the Journal. wish and hope all our patrons and friends will realize my scheme and co-operate with me in my labours and thus bring my three schemes into success, viz ; I.-The Journal 'Anathbandhu' which will produce articles in its pages for the benefit of mankind. II.—The “ Annapurna Asram” a religious and industrious home for the poor, which once settled will be a self-supporting institution. III -The “ Album of the Noblemeu of India' in English, which will be a book of peerage of India, a most useful, desireable and glorious work for India. I have practical knowledge in the lines I have undertaken and this fact is known fo my numerous patrons and friends. Yours obediently, K. P. MOU) KERJE. 7, WATERLoo ST., CALOUTTA.
