No. 440.-The Governor-General in Council directs that the following be added to Rule 1 under Section 52 of the Civil Pension Code:— But an inferior servant or a Police Officer below the rank of Head Constable who, in the opinion of the Head of his office, is fit for light work, may he retained in employment till his pension or gratuity is sanctioned, provided that his place is not filled up till he retires, and that his service counts only to the date of his medical certificate. Sargeaunt, R.E., Officiating Examiner of Railway Accounts, Calcutta, was, on return from furlough, granted subsidiary leave from 10th to 16th December 1875 inclusive. The 27th January 1876.
