Mitchell of Her Majesty's Bengal Civil Service reported to the Government of Bengal his arrival at Calcutta on the 13th November last. The 7th January 1876. No. 4.—Mr. J. Pitt-Kennedy, Standing Counsel for the Presidency of Fort William in Bengal, reported his return from the leave granted to him on the 9th March' last, and resumed charge of his duties on the forenoon of the 16th ultimo. NOTIFICATIONS.–Accounts. Fort William, the 6th January 1876. No. 28.-Mr. D. M. Barbour received charge of the office of Under-Secretary to the Government of India in the Financial Department from Mr. J. A. Bourdillon, before noon, on the 21st December 1875, from which date the services of Mr. Bourdillon are replaced at the disposal of the Government of Bengal. The 7th January 1876. No. 75.—Mr. W. H. Dobbie is appointed to be an Assistant to the Accountant-General, North-Western Provinces, but will continue to officiate as an Assistant to the ComptrollerGeneral. to LEAvR AND ALLOWANCEs. The 6th January 1876. Mo, 29.-The Governor-General in Council is pleased to rule that when a public officer ‘travels by railway under circumstances entitling him to travelling allowance by distance, and is required to pay for a distance in excess of that over which he travels, the amount paid by him for the excess distance shall be reimbursed to him. MINT AND CURRENCY. The 7th January 1876. No. 79.-Colonel J. F. Tenant, R.E., is appointed to officiate as Master of Her Majesty's Mint at Calcutta. 動 R. В.
