Mook ERJEE & Co., Calcutta-offers a decided advance on the first issue of this new venture of that progressive house. Matter is in Bengali, with some advts. in English, a cover in red and black being both appropriate and quietly tasteful in character. A remarkable feature of the pages is the very praiseworthy standard attained by a series of three-colour illustrations interspersed amongst matter. But if the high water-mark of excellence reached in the first issue is maintained, the “Anathbandhu' under the editorship of Babu Sasi Bhusan Mukerjee will be a valuable addition to Bellgalee magazines. It contains a character sketch of the Maharaja Bahadur of Durbhanga, and articles on such diverse subjects as Art, Industry, Agriculture, Sanitation, Indigenous Drugs, Religion Music and Yoga, the editor contributing as many as six articles. We wish the new magazine a career of usefulness.
