दिखोझ इं७ ।] গধণমেন্ট গেজেট, ১৮৯৪ সাঙ্গ ৩৪ खriझङ्गतःि । ** mo-— -سف- ہہ سی۔ .--مw جیحاتحات=تحصحه گستاخانه حصصص همه - -ബ سم۔--سیے ص------------ The Lieutenant-Governor is pleased to tippoint the Khas Tahsildar of the town khas mahal to be the Forest Settlement Officer for blocks Nos 1 and 2, the Khas Tahsildar of the Satkania tahsil for blook No 3, the Khas Tahsildal of the Patia khas mahal for bloek No 4, the Khas Tahsildar of the Raojan khas mahal for block No 5, and the Khas Tahsildar of the Cox's Bazar khas mahal for blocks Nos 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and ll, who will, under the provisions of chapter II of the Indian Forest Act, determine the boundaries to be finally laid down, and enquire into and determine the existence, nature and extent of auy rights alleged to exist in favour of any person in or over any laud comprised within the boundaries specified above, or in or over any forest produce to be found thereill, in cases where claims to such rights are preferred by any individual ol community under section 6 of the said Act, and will also themselves ascertain, as far as possible, and enquire into the existence of any rights mentioned in section 4 or 5 of the said Act, within the said boundaries, which are not claimed under section 6, so far as the same may be ascertainable from the records of Government and the evidence of any persons likely to be acquainted with the same, and will otherwise perform the duties of Forest Settlement Officers under that chapter The Lieutenant-Governor is also pleased, under section 16 of the Indian Forest Act, to appoiut the Commissioner of the Chittagong Division to hear appeals from the decisions of the Forest Settlement Officers as above appointed C E BUCKLAND, Seey to the Gort of Bengal ASAS SSAS SSAS SSAS SSAS REVENUE DEPARMIENT, –LAND REVENUE


NOTIFICATION.—No 438L R The 92nd January 1894–Rules 26, 28 and 29 of the Rules for the lease of large plots of waste land in the Sund urbans, published with Government notification of the 12th November 1879, at pages 1131 to 1135, Part I of the Calcutta Gasatte of 19th idem, havc heen modified with the approval of His Excellency the Governor Guneral in ( ouncil, and the amended rules are published for general information The alterations made are shown iu italio.8 — 26 Should there be more than one application for the lease of the same land before the date fired by notification for the salt of the land applied for, and should the second application comprise the whole of the lands contained in the first, the Sundarbans Commissioner shall put the lease up to auction on the day named in the notice, and shall stil 1 to the highest bidder, but no person shall be allowed to bid who has not made such application, and no bid shall be accepted which is not bond ful ou behalf of such person If the second application comprise a portion only of the land contained in the first, it shall be rejected 28 The purchaser of the lease shall be required to pay down at on ce 25 per cent on the amount of his bid.
