An Examination will be held early in April 1847, in the College of Fort Willian, for the purpose of filling up existing vacancies in the Secondary or Military Class of the Medical College. All candidates will be expected to possess an adequate knowledge of the Hindoostanee language, to enable them to read and write it in the Persian or Deva nagri character. 2. All Interpreters of Regiments and 13attalions will be requested through the Military Department, not to grant certificates of qualification to any candidate under the age of fifteen and above that of twenty years : and likewiso to reject all who may not pass the preseribed ordeal with a sufficient degree of fluency and facility. Much disappointment, expense and inconvenience have already been experienced by lads from distant stations being furnished with certificates, who were found on examination, quite unqualified for admission, and it is with a view to prevent the recurrence of this that the above measure has been adopted. 3. Candidates for admission will be required to preseut themselves before the Secretary to the Medical College, at least three days prior to the day of examination, in order that a proper descriptive roll inny be prepared, for transmission to the examiners of the College of Fort William. 4. The preference in selection, attainments being equal, will be given to thoso who have alrea •ly been attached to, or served in civil or regimental hospitals. 5. No candidate will be allowed to r resent himself for examination who cannot pressure a written testimonial of his conduct and character, or afford satisfactory evidence as to who and what he may be. A few individuals of decidglly bad character have upon recent occasions managed to obtain admitt unce, it is supposed by producing false papers; the strictest care and scrutiny will, therefore, he exercised in examining the credentials of all future candidates. G. All pupils must, as a condition of their appointment, reside within the college premises at all times, and never be absent from morning and evening muster without special leave. . 7. Ali students in the Military Class are amenable to the Articles of War, and regularly enlisted as Soldiers. 8. Fort William, January 26th, 1847. গবর্ণমেন্ট গেজেট ১৮৪৭। ২৩ মার্চ ] У О о | ) ন্সেলের সেক্রেটারী সাহেব তাছারদিগকে জাহা জানাইবেন । হুকুমকমে । এফ জে মেীআট । বিদ্যাধ্যাপনের কৌন্সেলের সেক্রেটারী । বিদ্যাধ্যাপনের ইশতিহার । মেডিকাল কালেঞ্জের অন্তঃপাতি দ্বিতীয় অর্থাৎ মিলিটারীসম্পৰ্কীয় সম্প্রদায়ের কএক পদ শূন্য হইয়াছে অতএব তাহাতে ছাত্র নিযুক্ত করিবার নিমিত্তে ১৮৪৭ সালের অপ্রিল মাসের আরম্ভে ফোর্ট উলিয়ম কালেঞ্জে ইমতিহান হইবেক । পদাকাস্কিরদের হিন্দুস্থানী ভাষায় এমত উপযুক্ত জ্ঞান থাকিবেক যে তাহারা ঐ ভাষা পাঠ করিতে পারে এবং পারসী কিম্বা দেবনাগর অক্ষরে তাহা লিথিতে পারে । ২ । রেজিমেন্ট এলৰ বাটালিয়নের সকল দোভাষি সাহেবের প্রতি হুকুম হইল যে র্তাহারা পনের বৎসরের নু্যন কি বিশ বৎসরের অধিকবয়স্ক কোন পদাকাঙ্গিককে যোগ্যতার সর্টিফিকট না দেন এবং যাহার। নিরূপিত পরীক্ষায় উচিতমত এবং অনায়াসে উৰ্ত্তীর্ণ না স্কইতে পারে তাহারদিগকে অগ্রাহ্য করেন। ইহার পূৰ্ব্বে দূর স্থানের যে বালকদিগকে সর্টিফিকট দেওয়া গিয়াছিল তাহার। ইমতিহানের সময়ে কালেঞ্জে ভর্কি হওনের অযোগ্য বোধ হওয়াতে তাহারদিগের আশাভঙ্গ ও খরচ ও ক্লেশ হইয়াছে এবং এইরূপ বিঘ্ন উত্তর কালে না হয় এই নিমিত্তে উপরের উক্ত হুকুম দেওয়া গেল । ৩ । কলেজে ভর্কি হওনের আকাঙ্কি ব্যক্তিরদের অাবশ্যক যে ফোর্ট উলিয়ম কালেঞ্জের পরীক্ষক সাহেবেরদের নিকটে পাঠাইবার নিমিত্ত্বে তাহারদের এক উপযুক্ত চেহারা লিখিত হয় এজন্যে ইমতিহীনের দিনের অনু্যন তিন দিন পূৰ্ব্বে মেডিকাল কলেজের সেক্রেটারী সাহেবের সমুখে তাহারা উপস্থিত হয় । ৪। ছাত্রেরদের নিপুণতা সমান হইলে যাহারা সিবিল কিয় সৈন্যসম্পৰ্কীয় হাসপাটালে ভুক্ত হইয়াছিল কিম্ব কর্ম করিয়াছিল তাহারাই প্রথমে মনোনীত হই.. (エ・零 1 ৫ । পদাকাক্ষি যে কোন ছাত্র আপন সদ্ব্যবহার ও সদাচারিতার বিষয়ে লিখিত সর্টিফিকট দাখিল করিতে নী পারে কিম্ব সে কে ও কি প্রকার ব্যক্তি এই বিষয়ে খাতিরজমামতে প্রমাণ দিতে না পারে এমত কোন পদাকাঙ্ক্ষী ইমতিহীনের জন্যে উপস্থিত হইতে পারিবেক না। সম্প্রতি অতিদুষ্টাচারি কএক জন বোধ হয় জালকর সর্টিফিকট দাখিল করিয়া কলেজে ভর্বি হইয়াছে অতএব উত্তর কালে সকল পদাকাভিক্ষর সর্টিফিকটের পরীক্ষাকরণের বিষয়ে অতিশয় সাবধানতা ও সুক্ষ অনুসন্ধান ੇবেক । 爱 ৬ । সকল ছাত্রের আবশ্যক যে তাহারা নিত্য কলেজে বাস করে এবং বিশেষ অনুমতি ন পাইয়া সকালে ও সায়^কালে নাম ডাক যাইবার সময়ে কখনো গরহাজির না হয় এই নিয়মেতে তাহারা পদে নিযুক্ত হইবেক । ৭ । মিলিটারীসম্পৰ্কীয় সম্প্রদায়ের সকল ছাত্র যন্ধসম্পৰ্কীয় আইনের অধীন হইবেক এবং সিপাহীস্বরূপ তাহারদের নাম রীতিমতে ফিরিস্তিতে লেখা যাইবেক । ৮। ঐ পদাকাঙ্গিক্ষ যে কোন ব্যক্তি শরীরের দোষপ্ৰষক্ত সিপাহীর কর্ম করিতে না পারে সে গ্রাহ্য হইবেক না। বিদ্যাধ্যাপনের কমিটির প্রযুত অনরবিল প্রসীডেন্ট সাহেবের এবং কোন্সেলের হুকুমত্রমে প্রকাশিত। এফ জে মৌআট । সেক্রেটার ফোর্ট উলিয়ম। ১৮৪৭। ২৬ জানুআরি। সেক্রেটারী।
