পত্র ও একটি গল্প রচনা করিয়া জগদীশচন্দ্রের চিত্তবিনোদন করিবেন। • জগদীশচন্দ্রের একখানি চিঠিতে দেখি (১৮ এপ্রিল ১৯০০), তিনি শিলাইদহ হইতে ফিরিয়া তাহার ‘পাওনা’ আদায়ের চেষ্টা করিতেছেন— ‘আপনার লেখা গল্প মাঝে-মাঝে পাঠাইবেন । প্রথম কয়টা দিন আপনি ফাকি দিয়াছেন। অন্ততঃ সে কয়টা গল্প আমার পাওনা আছে।’ জগদীশচন্দ্রের অনেক চিঠিতে রবীন্দ্রনাথের ছোট গল্পের সকৌতুক উল্লেখ অনুপ্রবিষ্ট— ‘আমি এ কয়দিন “মে ঘ ও রৌদ্রে র” মধ্য দিয়া গিয়াছি । মেঘের মধ্যে রজতরেখা কখন কখন দেখা দিয়াছে’ ( ৬ মার্চ ১৯• • ) । দেখিবেন স দ রে র অনুগ্রহে যেন আমি অ না রে র বিরাগভাজন না হই’ ( ১৬ মার্চ ১৯ • e ) । 'তোমার মিনির বিবাহ হইল। কা বুলী ও য়া লা তাহাতে উপস্থিত থাকিতে না পারিয়া অত্যন্ত দুঃখিত আছে’ ( ১১ জুলাই ১৯০১ ) । greatness.
