This little work completes the series of Proverbs and 'roverbial sayings of Bengal which I have brought out +, co-operation with Pandit Nobin Chunder Bunarjyea, ind other Native trentlemen to whom I owe a deep Jebt of obligation for the assistance they rendered. The series consist of about 6000 proverbs, but here are still many local sayings unpublished, and I .ope soine Native (ìentlemen will continue ruy work in this direction. J.
