The secret of his popularity lies in his deeply generous and sympathetic nature. If he is loved and respected by his countless pupils he is no less loved and admired by his colleagues for his dignified bearing, his sense of humour and his tolerance and cool judgment. It is a proof of no ordinary eminence and ability that he has been for years a member of the Governing Body of the College, has been representative of the College year after year in the Senate of the University of Patna since the year 1919 and has been returned, term after term, to the University Syndicate ever since his first election to it in 1921. In University circles he is respected as one whose knowledge of University regulations and administrative work is believed to be unsurpassable. His selection is an act which is the outcome of rare foresight, unclouded judgment and a most judicions selection. The appointment to the Principalship of B. N.
