W., Provinces the past 2 years. I selected him for the post as one of most promising student of the Government Law Class and I have had no reason to repent of the choice. His legal acquirements are sufficiently attested by thc position he gained in the Examination of the Law Class in 1871 and in the Examination of High Court Pleaderships in 1872. But I may be allowed speaking from intimate knowledge to say that he continued his legal studies diligently since he became a pleader of the High Court now a year ago, and that in my office he has had a legal training and an introduction to actual practice which should make his services peculiarly valuble to any one who requires a practical knowledge of law. B. যোগেন্দ্রবাবু খৰ্ব্বাকৃতি পুরুষ ছিলেন । একে খৰ্ব্বাকৃতি তাহাতে গুল্কশ্বপ্রহীন যুবক, সুতরাং রাজধানীর আদালতে পসার করিতে পারিলেন না । পৃষ্ঠাহাকে বালক মনে করিয়া সহসা কেহ মোকদ্দমার ভার দিতে সাহস করিত না । সুতরাং এক বৎসরের চেষ্টায় সফল হঠাতে না পারিয়া ১৮৭৩ অব্দের নভেম্বর মাসে তিনি আলীগড়ে আসিয়া ওকালতি আরম্ভ করিলেন । আলীগড়ে তখন ইংরেজীজান উকীল একজন মাত্ৰষ্ট ছিলেন এবং ইংরেজী-নবীশ নব্যাতন্ত্রের উকীলের প্ৰতি স্থানীয় উকীলসম্প্রদায় বিদ্বেষভাব পোষণ করিতেন ও পৃষ্ঠাতার প্রতিপত্তিলাভের অন্তরায় হইয়া দাড়াইতেন। সুতরাং যোগেন্দ্রবাবুর আগমন পূৰ্ব্বোক্ত ইংরেজিনবীশ উকীলের পক্ষে বিশেষ অনুকূল হইল। তাহারা উভয়েই প্রথমাবধি বন্ধুত্বসূত্রে বদ্ধ হইলেন। কিন্তু উদারস্বভাব যোগেন্দ্রনাথ প্রাচীন উকীল সম্প্রদায়ের প্ৰতি কোন বিদ্বেষভাব পোষণ না করিয়া অমায়িক ব্যবহারে অল্পদিনের মধ্যেই
