Sile মধ্যে বাবু গুরুপ্রসাদ সেন, ভাগলপুরনিবাসী রাজা শিবচন্দ্ৰ বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়, বাঁকীপুর বালিকাবিদ্যালয়ের তত্ত্বাবধায়িকা ও বোর্ডিং প্রতিষ্ঠাত্রী স্বৰ্গীয়া অঘোর কামিনী দেবী ও তাঁহার স্বামী বেহারের সকল সাধুকাৰ্য্যের উৎসাহদাতা ভূতপূৰ্ব ডেপুটী কলেক্টর স্বৰ্গীয় প্ৰকাশচন্দ্র রায় ; বৈদ্যনাথ । দেবগৃহে রাজকুমারীকুষ্ঠাশ্ৰম স্থাপয়িতা বাৰু যোগীন্দ্রনাথ বসু প্রমুখ সদাশয় ব্যক্তিগণ বেহারের জন্য যাহা । করিয়াছেন তাহা বেহারবাসী সহজে বিশ্বত হইবেন না। মুসলমানযুগেও বেহারে বাঙ্গালীর প্রভাব অল্প ছিল না। নবাব আলীবর্দী খাঁর আমলে রাজা জানকীনাথ সোম সুবে বিহারের দেওয়ান ছিলেন। তিনিই রাজনৈতিক প্রতিভাবলে বঙ্গ ও বিহারকে মহারাষ্ট্র আক্রমণ হইতে বহুদিন রক্ষা করিয়াছিলেন। তাহার পুরস্কারস্বরূপ তিনি প্ৰথমে “দেওয়ান-ই-তন” উপাধি ও পরে সামরিকবিভাগীয় প্রধান দেওয়ানের পদ প্ৰাপ্ত হন। সিরাজউদৌলার সময় তিনি সুবাদার বলিয়া পরিচিত থাকিলেও নিজেই বিহার শাসন করিতেন। র্তাহার শাসনদক্ষতায় পরিতুষ্ট হইয়া দিল্লীর বাদশাহ তাহাকে “মহারাজ বাহাদুর” উপাধি ও ৬ হাজারী মনসবদারী এবং ঝালরদার পালকী, নহবৎ, সমসের, ঢাল, চামরাদি ব্যবহারেও স্বাধীনতা দান করেন। পলাসীযুদ্ধের ৪ বৎসর পূৰ্ব্বে তীহার মৃত্যু হয়। অষ্টাদশ শতাব্দীর বঙ্গেতিহাসের অন্যতম নায়ক রাজা রাজবল্লভ তঁহারই ংশধর। বিশ বৎসর পূর্বে পঞ্জাবে স্ত্রী পুরুষ লইয়া ২,২৬৩ জন বাঙ্গালী ছিলেন। more than a century and half ago Ballabhi Kanta Ghosh settled in Bankipur as one of the officers of the East lindia Company. But the Ghosh Babus of Bhiknapahari form a recognised Rais family of Patna City. There is the Mukerjea family at Mozaferpur, the Gupta family at Chapra, the Mukherjea arily at Ranigunj, the Kuhila family at Gaya and many such families settled for more than a century in Behar. " ' " Bengalis were drawn into the public service of Behar from the earliest days of British administration, and also into the learned professions and they also came as traders and commercial agents. They fought for municipal reforms and sanitation. They started the press and created a public life in Behar. They headed the Bar and gave tone to it. They interested themselves in all that conduced to the material, moral and intellectual welfare of Behar. ' ' ' The Bengalis started the first Girls' School in Behar ' ' ' The idea of the Industrial School at Bankipur, which has since developed into the Behar School of Engineering came from Babu Guru Prosad Sen, the foremost Bengali of his time in Behar.
