vYawAsTHA:DARPANa. 1186 There are also cಖ್ರಂua mixed classes, who ars begotten by men of the mixed or unmixed da೨೫, oo women of the mixed classes. They, and the different kinds of Vrátyás or men not initiated in the ceremonies of assuming the sacred thread, are as follows :- - “From a Brååmen, by a girl of the Ugra tribe, is born an Avrita; by one of the Ambastha tribe, an Asbhira; by one of 4 yogava tribe, a Digvana. The A'yogava, the kahatiri, and the Chandála, the lowest of men, spring from a Shādra in inverse order qf the claaaaa, amd ara, (therefore,) all three excluded (from the performance of obsequies to their ancestors:)—From a Poishya the Māyadha and Voideha, foom a Kshatriya the Sáta only, are born in an inverse order; and they are three other sons excluded (from funeral rites to their fathers.) The son of a Nish6da, by a woman of the Shūdra clues, is by tribe a Pukkasa; but the son of a Shidra by a Nishéd woman, is named Kukkutaka. One, born of a Kshattri by au Ugrá is called Swapāka; and one, begotten by a Poideha on an Ambashthi wife, is called Wena. Those, whom the twice born beget on women of equal classes, but who perform not the proper ceremonies of assuming the thread, and the like, people oenominate Prátyás, or excluded from the Gáyatri. From such an outcast Brähmen springs a son of a sinful nature,(who in different countries)is named a Bićrjakantaka, an Ascantya, a Váladhána, a Pushpadha, and a Shoikha. From such an outcast Kakatriya come sons called a Jhalla, a Malla, a Nichkivi, a Nata, a Karana a Khasa and a Drávira. From such an outcast Woishya is born a son called Sudkanwan, Chárya, Ráruska, Vijanman, Moitra, and Sáticata. By intermixtures of the classes, by their marriages with women who ought not to be married, and by their omission of prescribed duties, impure classes have been formed.”-Mann. ch. X. v. 15–24 Those men of mingled births, who were born in the inverse order of classes, and who intermarry among themselves, I will now compendiously describe.” The Sita, the Voideha, and the Chandála, that lowest of mortals, the Mágadha, the Kołattri by tribe, and the Avogana : these six beget similar sons on women of their own closes, or on women of the same class with their mothers; and they produce the like from women of the two highest classes, and of the lowest : Those six beget, on women of their own tribes, reciprocally, very many despicable and abject races even more foul than thor begetters. The six low classes, marrying inversely, beget fifteen yet lower tribes, the base producing still baser, ( and is a direct order they produce fifteen more.)
