ইংরাজ শাসনকাল । २७७ বণিক সভার নিকট বিক্রয় করিতে হইবে ; তাহাদের নিকট ভিন্ন কাহারও নিকট কিছুমাত্র বিক্রয় করিতে পারিবে না। যদি মুচলুক না দিয়া কেহ লবণ প্রস্তুত করে বা ঐরূপ মুচলুক দিতে বিলম্ব করে তাহ হইলে দণ্ডনীয় হইবে। ঐ সময় হিজলীর অন্তর্গত জলামুঠা পরগণার জমিদার রাজা লক্ষীনারায়ণ চৌধুরীর উপর যে পরওয়ানা জারি হইয়াছিল এবং মাজনামুঠার জমিদার রাজা যাদবরাম রায় যে মুচলুক দিয়াছিলেন পাদটীকায় তাহার ইংরাজী অনুবাদ প্রদত্ত হইল । * এই বন্দোবস্তের পরে দেশের অবস্থা কিরূপ হইয়াছিল চণ্ডীচরণ সেন মহাশয়ের “মহারাজা নন্দকুমার” গ্রন্থে তাহার বিস্তারিত বিবরণ অাছে। এ স্থলে উহার পুনরুল্লেখ নিম্প্রয়োজন। • Purwannah issued to the Gomasta of Lukminarain Chowdry gf the Pergunnah of.Jalla mutha. “Be it understood, that a request has been made by the Governor and the gentlemen of the Committee and Council, to this purpose, that until the contracts for salt of the said gentlemen are settled, no salt shall be made, or got ready in any District ; that a Gomasta be sent to attend on the said gentlemen, and having given a bond, he may then proceed to his business, and make salt; but till the bond be given to the Governor and the gentlemen of the Committee and Council, they should make none.
