शृङ्क ቈሱ তৎকালে একদিন পিতৃদেব আমাকে ও আমার মধ্যম সহোদরকে সঙ্গে লইয়া বর্ধমান দেখিতে যান। তথায় যাইয় তাহার পরমাত্মীয় বন্ধু নীলমণি বসাক মহাশয়ের বাটীতে গিয়া উপস্থিত হন। নীলমণি বাৰু তখন কালেক্টর সাহেবের হেডক্লার্ক ছিলেন। তাহার বাড়ীটী রাসারে ধীরে ছিল। তিনি পিতৃদেবকে পাই। এতদূর আনন্দিত হন, যে, তাহা তিনি প্রকাশ করিতে পারেন নাই। তিনি আমাদিগকে সঙ্গে লইয়া সহরের সর্বত্র দেখাইয়া বেড়াইলেন।”—হরিশ্চন্দ্র ভট্টাচাৰ্য্য কবিরত্ব : গিরিশচন্দ্র বিস্তারত্বের জীবন-চরিত, পৃ. ৪৭। মৃত্যু বৰ্দ্ধমানের চাকুরী হইতে অবসর গ্রহণ করিবার পূর্বেই অনেক দিন রোগ ভোগ করিয়া, ৬ আগস্ট ১৮৬৪ তারিখে নীলমণি বসাক লোকান্তর গমন করেন। মৃত্যুকালে তাহার বয়স আহ্মানিক ৫৬ বৎসর হইয়াছিল। তাহার মৃত্যুতে পরবর্তী ১৩ই আগস্ট (শনিবার) কিশোরীচঁাদ মিত্র-সম্পাদিত ’ইণ্ডিয়ান ফীল্ড স্বাহ লিখিয়াছিলেন, নিয়ে তাহ উদ্ধৃত হইল :– We regret to have to record the death of Baboo Niimoney Bysack, Assistant to the Commissioner of Burdwan, which melancholy event took place on the night of Saturday last....He published several works, among which the Nobonarss ranks as his best performance....It has been scospted as a standard work, in fact the best of its kind and will hand down the author's name to posterity.
