TTO The members of the Committee of the Bangiya Sahitya Parishad for considering the proposal to substitute the vernacular language for English, for instruction in History, Mathematics &c. in Entrance schools. Dated, Faridpur, the January 15, 1895. GENTLEMEN, received your Circular of 5th January last at Faridpur yesterday, on my return to this place from a tour in the interior of the district. I consider the proposal, which your committee has been appointed to examine, to be one of very great importance. I have had, on several occasions, to express my views, (in favour of the proposed change) in my official reports, or other communications addressed to the Director of Public Instruction. But I am not quite sure whether I would not be overstepping the limits of official etiquette if I were to enter upon a discussion of, or formally to express my views regarding this question, or any other question falling within the range of my official duties, in a private letter which has the chance of being alluded to in public discussions. I would, however, take the liberty to add that it seems to me that the best way, for the Committee to get a full expression of the views of the officers of the Education Department, would be to have its enquiries circu lated among those officers through, or with the countenance of, the Director of Public Instructions. Yours truly, DINANATH SEN, Ofig. Inspector of Schools Eastern Circle.
