Å. lowed to pass and to be conveyed from India to the Mauritius from the ports of Calcutta, Madras and Bombay respectively, in compliance with the Pro visions hereinafter mentioned, but not otherwise III And it is hereby enacted, that at e ich of the three ports afores ud, it shall be lawful for the Government of the Presidency within which the port is situated to authorize the persons nominatcd by the Goveriment of Mauritius, under the order hereinbefore inst rted to act as Emigration Agents at the aforesaid ports respectively, and to exercise the powers conscrrid on Limignation Agents by this Act And every such Emigration Agent shall make monthly reports to the Government to which he is subordinate of all matters transai ted by him in pur suance of this At t IV And it is her by enacted, that it shall not be lawful to convey any Emigrant, being a Native of India, who may embark for the purpose of labour Ing for hire in the Colony of Mauritius fi om c ıther of the ports aforesaid, in any Ship or Wessel, unless a License be obtained for carrying Izmigrants in such Ship or \ essel from the Government of the Presidency in which the port is situated A fee not ex et ding one Rupo e per Finigrant, as mav be regulated from time to time by the Local Govern ment, shall be demandable in respect of every such License, which fee shall be can rit d to the credit of the sud Govt rnm nt and the granting or with holding any such License shall be nturily discri tıonary w ıth tlıe Government, 'ınd ın consıderation of such License the Master of even v Ship conveying or destined to convey Einigl unts from Indi i shall execute a Bond, binding himself and his owners in a penal sum of 10 000 Rupees to conform to the several conditions hereunder provided, and the said Bond shall be executed in duplic to that it may he put in sunt uther vt the place of t xetution or 1n the Colony of Mauritius, and one copy shall be for warded to the Government of Mauritius to be dealt with as the case m ty require And everv Slup or Vessel in which auv such limgrant shall be con veyed without a License being obtain d as afore said shall be liable to be forfeited, and the Master thereof shall be liable as for a misdemeanor in a fine of 1,000 Rupt s for every such Emigrant so illegally convey cd V And it is hereby enacted, that it shall not be lawful for the Master of any Vessel licensed as above to receive on board any Emigrant labourer as above provıded, tınlt ss sut h labourt r sh all have ın his possession and show a Cortificate or pass to be given to him by the Emigration Agent of the port, stating his name and the name of his father and his agt, and eertifving that having appeared before such Agent he has declared his willingness and desire to proceed to work for hire in the said Colony of Mauritius VI.
