And he began to say unto then, This day is this Scripture fulfilled in your ears.” Were “the eyes of all fastened on him” because he had read so short a lesson or was it because he had suddenly broken off at an awkward passage, which would have quite spoilt his quotations We can not tell. Amidst all these loose generalitics and vague allusions, wo search in vain for chapter and verse to which we can refer for the alleged predictions.
