54 Arioch gladly brought in Daniel before the king, and the king said to him, “Art thou able to make known unto me my dream and the interpretation thereof * Daniel answered, * The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, show unto the king; but there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days.” 'Daniel then described to the king the vision which had passed before his mind while he was asleep. It was of an image, or figure of a man, - but exceedingly tall and large. Its appearance was bright and terrible. The head of the image was of the richest gold, the breast and arms of silver, the lower part of the body of brass, the legs of ifon, and the feet of iron mixed with clay. While the king thought upon this image, a heavy stone or rock, of its own accord and without receiving any external impulse, rolled down from a mountahn upon the inyage, and crushed it to pieces, grinding it to the finest powder, which the winds of
