835 ংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতা যুদ্ধ দলিলপত্রঃ ত্রয়োদশ খন্ড MINDFUL of its responsibility under the relevant provisions of the Charter of the United Nations. 1. Calls upon the Governments of India and Pakistan to take forthwith all measures for an immediate cease-fire and withdrawal of their armed forces on the territory of the other to their own side of the India-Pakistan borders; 2. Urges that efforts be intensified in order to bring about, speedily and in accordance with the principles of the Charter, conditions necessary for the voluntary return of the East Pakistan refugees to their homes; 3. Calls for the full co-operation of all States with the Secretary-General for rendering assistance to and relieving the distress of those refugees; 4. Requests the Secretary-General to keep the Council promptly and currently informed on the implementation of this resolution; 5. Decides to follow the situation closely and to meet again as soon as necessary. DRAFT RESOLUTION BY CHINA IN THE SECURITY COUNCIL S/10421, December 5, 1971 THE SECURITY COUNCIL Having Heard the statements of the Representatives of Pakistan and India. Noting In Particular that India has launched large-scale attacks on Pakistan, thus gravely undermining the peace in the Indo-Pakistan sub-continent. Strongly Condemning the Indian Government's acts of creating a so-called "Bangladesh" and of subverting, dismembering and committing aggression against Pakistan. Calls upon the Government of India to withdraw its armed forces and armed personnel sent by it from Pakistan territory immediately and unconditionally and calls upon the Government of Pakistan to withdraw the armed forces which it has sent into Indian territory for counter-attacks. Calls upon India and Pakistan to cease hostilities and to withdraw respectively from the international border between India and Pakistan and to disengage from each other so as to create conditions for a peaceful settlement of the disputes between India and Pakistan. Calls upon all States to support the Pakistan people in their just struggle to resist Indian aggression. Request the Secretary-General to submit as early as possible a report to the Security Council on the implementation of this resolution.
